republic day guest 2023 : How they are chosen?

74th republic day guest 2023

As for inviting President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi as a chief guest of India's republic day. India and Egypt have a long-standing relationship and India has traditionally had cordial relations with Egypt, which is a key player in the Arab and African worlds.

Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is the current President of Egypt. He came to power in 2013 following a military coup that deposed the democratically-elected President Mohamed Morsi. Prior to becoming President, Sisi served as the Director of Military Intelligence and as the Minister of Defense under President Morsi.

Sisi's presidency has been marked by a crackdown on political opposition and civil liberties, including the arrest and imprisonment of thousands of political dissidents and human rights activists. He has also been criticized for his handling of the economy, which has struggled since he took office.

Sisi has been active in the region, particularly in fighting against terrorist groups such as ISIS and Islamic Brotherhood. He has also played an important role in the Libyan and Syrian conflicts trying to find a peaceful solution.

Sisi was re-elected as president in 2018, winning 97% of the vote. His second term has been marked by his efforts to modernize Egypt's infrastructure and stimulate economic growth.

HOW REPUBLIC DAY GUEST ARE CHOSEN?

The process of choosing the chief guest for India's Republic Day is typically a decision made by the Indian government, taking into account various factors such as bilateral relations, strategic importance, and representation of the region.

The chief guest for the Republic Day parade is usually a foreign head of state or government. The invitation is extended by the President of India to the head of state/government of a country that the Indian government wishes to strengthen its relations with. The chief guest is invited to be a part of the Republic Day parade, which is held annually on January 26th in the capital city of New Delhi.

Other factors that are considered when choosing the chief guest include the country's political and economic ties with India, the country's contributions to regional and international peace and security, and the country's cultural and historical ties with India.

In recent years, the Indian government has also invited leaders from countries in India's immediate neighborhood, as well as leaders from countries with which India has close cultural and historical ties.

It's worth mentioning that there's no fixed rule for choosing the chief guest and the Indian government may take different perspectives and considerations for each year.

Christmas eve tradition and customs

Christmas Eve includes a lot of unique traditions and rituals. Attending a Midnight Mass Church Service is the most popular tradition that is still in use today. This is the most significant church service of the Christmas season in many nations, notably Catholic ones like Spain, Mexico, Poland, and Italy.

In some nations, people may fast on Christmas Eve (typically without eating any meat or fish), and the main Christmas feast is frequently consumed after the Midnight Mass. The meal is consumed in the evening in some other nations, including Belgium, Finland, Lithuania, and Denmark, and you might attend a Midnight Service following!

In the UK, many believed that females may discover their future spouse's initials on Christmas Eve or even have visions of them. This was frequently accomplished by baking a particular cake known as a "dumb cake." The cake was to be baked in silence, with your initials pierced into the top. Your true love was meant to come in at midnight and prick his initials next to yours on the cake you left by the fire when you went to bed.

Other Christmas Eve superstitions included the notion that domestic and wild animals will bow down at midnight in remembrance of Jesus' birth or even possess the ability to speak!

Indian airforce day 2022

 HAPPY  INDIAN  AIRFORCE DAY

The day of October 8 is proudly observed by Indians as a day of remembrance for the valiant airmen of the Indian Air Force (IAF), who ceaselessly defend the country by securing the Indian airspace and carrying out rescue operations during natural disasters. The Commander-in-Chief of the IAF is the President of India.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) celebrates its 90th birthday this year.

Indian Air Force's beginnings

The former British government founded the Indian Air Force in a formal capacity on October 8, 1932. In 1933, six RAF-trained officers and 19 Havai Sepoys formed the first operational squadron (air soldiers). The force was initially established during World War II as an auxiliary air force of the Royal Air Force of the British Empire. In an effort to halt the Japanese invasion at the time, the IAF was mostly sent to Burma to destroy Japanese aviation bases.

King George VI put "Royal" before the name of the Indian Air Force in 1945 to recognise its contributions. The Royal Indian Air Force continued to operate under the Dominion of India after India gained independence from Great Britain in 1947. After India became a republic in 1950, this honorific title was abolished.

The importance of the day

The purpose of the day is to honour the Indian Air Force and recognise their commitment to a prosperous country.

The IAF has fought four battles with neighbouring Pakistan since 1950.

The world has seen the saga of the IAF's unwavering bravery numerous times, including during the Congo Crisis (1960–1966), the Annexation of Goa (1961), the Second Kashmir War (1965), the Bangladesh Liberation War (1971), the Kargil War (1999), the Balakot airstrike, and the India–Pakistan standoff of 2019.
